Position Summary:
Due to current and anticipated future growth, we are seeking a part time Assistant Accountant to join our team in Dandenong South. Reporting to an experienced and supportive Financial Controller, this newly created role will work within a highly collaborative 3 person finance team and provide support in the management of the finance and accounting function.
This is an onsite role of 16 hours per week. There is flexibility on how you make up those hours, outside of one core day each Wednesday fortnight.

What you'll be doing:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and inventory.
- Manage the general ledger, including banking and inter-company reconciliation.
- Assist in preparation of annual company operating budget in conjunction with senior management.
- Assist in job costing analysis and reporting.
- Supervise and manage month end payroll requirements, including superannuation and payroll tax and assist with payroll processing as required.
- Maintain and update fixed asset register.
- Assist with company foreign exchange exposure.
- Supervise and manage the accounts payable and receivable function.
- Training and mentoring of Accounts Officer and other colleagues as required.
What you bring:
- Professional accounting qualification with sound commercial experience. CA or CPA would be highly regarded.
- A positive, proactive and collaborative approach, supported by outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent relationship building skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with people at all levels.
- Proficiency in using EAP whole of business platforms.
- Experience with Foreign currency exchange and hedge contracts.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of managing business model sustainability.
- Familiarity with International and US GAAP would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
