The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant provides accurate and timely financial data and supports the finance functions to ensure strategic alliance and strong financial health of the company. Other duties are as follows.
- Prepare and follow up on weekly reports related to VIM AP and PEP
- Engage with the business and AP Shared Services Team for workflow coordination and invoices processing, bank reconciliations and allocations
- Handle various payment requests, including:
- Bonuses, reconciliation, and year-end adjustments
- Weekly employee reimbursements
- Weekly foreign exchange (FX) hedging, and payments
- Investigate Opex reports
- Monthly recharges, prepayments, Opex journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics
- Support ICAR and ICAP accrual processes
- Credit card journals and reconciliations
- Manage parts accounting and reporting
- Handle GSI project accounting and quarterly disclosures (Inventory FGI, G&P, AR)
- Perform monthly and quarterly warranty reconciliations
- Calculate and lodge Monthly BAS/GST for both AU and NZ entities
- Manage tax withholdings and instalments
- Submit Payment Times Reports to the government semi-annually
- Provide updates on stocktake
- Participate in year-end tasks
- Work closely with stakeholders an annual audit
The Person
Degree qualified in Finance or Accounting, you must be a commercially astute with previous experience as an Assistant Accountant. Having worked in a large, complex organisation, you will demonstrate your ability to work across various functions in the business. Excellent communication skills will see you partner with internal and external stakeholders effectively. You must be able to multi-task as this position has a variety of responsibilities which will keep you challenged and motivated. You will have experience with SAP and Advanced Excel.
