Assistant Bar Manager

Hampton Harbour Boat & Sailing Club at Dampier is seeking an Assistant Bar Manager to complement our existing team.  

The AssistantBar Manager will assist promote and grow the business, hire and train waitstaff, and ensure that patrons are receiving excellent service at all times. You will also assist the Bar Manager manage inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. You should also be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.

About the role:

• This is a full-time position 
• Admin work such as ordering, and rostering can be done around your schedule.
• Roster will coincide with opening hours.
• Wage and allowances will depend on experience.
• Above award wage.

Roles and responsibilities:

As the Assistant Bar Manager, you will be responsible to assist the Bar Manager with the overall operation of the bar.  

This includes but not limited to:

• Ability to work both the bar and the floor
• Opening and closing of the venue and all tills
• Till reconciliation
• POS system reconciliation
• Supervision of staff and staff training
• Asist with the planning and organizing functions / events
• Checking and maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies
• Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
• Assist with monthly stock takes and staff rostering
• Must be able to work weekends 
• Input on menu and drinks options
• A strong focus on customer service and creating outstanding experiences for our members and guests

About You:

• 1 year min previous experience in a similar position is a must
• MUST have current RSA
• Approved Managers Certificate is desirable
• Immaculate personal grooming and presentation
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions
• Must have fantastic organization and time management skills.  Punctuality is a must
• Committed to teamwork, providing direction and leadership and creating a fun and welcoming environment for our members
