Due to unparalleled growth we are advertising a role for anAssistant Buyer/Imports Coordinator, to report directly to our Imports Manager.
The job will suit a motivated individual fluent in Mandarin and English with an excellent attention to detail and a desire to work and learn in a fast paced environment.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Successful candidate will be based in Braeside, working closely with the Imports Manager and one of our Directors, and be responsible for:
- Supporting the Imports Manager with sourcing products, from initial research to on-boarding a supplier
- Working closely with overseas suppliers to acquire product information, certificates, quotations and samples
- Completing and verifying shipping documentation
- Working closely with freight forwarders
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels and parts
- Monitoring of delivery and shipping dates
- Collaborating with the marketing team
- Product research and competitor analysis
- Analysis of local and global consumer and market trends
You will gain a broad understanding of imports and product analysis, with active involvement in the product sourcing, supplier selection process, and import processes and documentation.
Required Skills
- Fluent in written and verbal Mandarin and English
- Tertiary education
- Analytical ability, numeric accuracy and attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong solution focus
- Ability to set and meet targets.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work and multi task in a changing and fast paced environment
- Understanding commercial viability of product
- Proficiency in computer skills especially Microsoft Office – Excel (required).
Preferred Skills (Advantageous but not essential)
- Prior experience in a similar role
