Hours: Term Only times - Monday-Friday -7am - 2.30pm
As the Assistant Canteen Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Canteen Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of our college canteen.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating daily canteen operations, including food preparation and service.
- Managing stock inventory and placing orders with vendors.
- Overseeing budgetary requirements and controlling expenditure.
- Providing supervision, training, and support to canteen staff and volunteers.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handling customer inquiries and orders promptly and efficiently.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and invoicing.
- Developing and maintaining policies and procedures to support operational strategies.
- At least 2-3 years experience in a similar position
- Qualifications as a Cook or Chef, would be looked at favourably
- Might suit an Apprentice Chef – Year 2 level, and studying
- Must show evidence of current WHS Training; Food Safety Training and/or Supervisor’s Certificate; and knowledge of Food Hygiene practices
- Must hold a current Blue Card; or be eligible to apply for one
- Strong administration and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer packages such as Microsoft Office.
