Job description

Working alongside our Canteen team, this role will directly contribute to enhancing our vibrant community through preparing quality food and serving in our Canteen.

This position would ideally suit a person with experience in a Canteen or other hospitality experience who would like to work part time hours, five days per week, term time only, and make a valuable contribution to the mission taking place at Calvary Christian College.

Responsibilities 

Working alongside a small team you will be responsible for:  

  • Serving students, parents and staff in a manner which reflects the College’s values and commitment to discipleship. 
  • Manage the planning, preparing and presenting quality food including simple dishes and espresso coffee. 
  • Manage the preparation of food for College events and functions. 
  • Ensure that safety (WHS), health, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained to a high standard. 
  • As required, supervise the training of students and canteen staff and volunteers. 
  • Manage the business requirements of the Canteen such as purchasing product and reconciling daily income.
  • Lead, promote and demonstrate the principles and values of a Christian Education at Calvary. 
  • Participate in staff daily devotions and College worship sessions. 

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in the responsibilities outlined above
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and a capacity to quickly develop authentic relationships.
  3. Experience utilising digital platforms (such as MSA) for the purpose of coordinating orders and maintaining financial records.
  4. Commitment to continuous improvement. 
  5. Strong, vibrant Christian faith.
