The Role

The role of the Assistant Case Manager is to support the Claims & Advisory Services team in the following:

  • Investigating and conducting allocated matters in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring efficient progress and update of matters in accordance with documented protocols.
  • Dealing with enquiries from members, in-house legal staff, external lawyers, in-house medical experts and independent experts.
  • Undertaking file reviews and recommending follow-up actions.
  • Liaising with the Underwriting department to ensure underwriting protocols are adhered to in decision making.
  • Reviewing processes and file lifecycles in relation to matters, where relevant, with a view to making recommendations for process improvement.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance proactive file management where appropriate.
  • Maintaining AHPRA compliance always.

The Claims & Advisory Services team is supported by a case management system (CMS), which provides the recording, monitoring and reporting of cases, allowing the team to exercise their expertise. The Assistant Case Manager will play a role in ensuring accurate, full and proper use of the CMS by the entire team.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • At least 3 years experience in case assistance in the insurance sector/legal sector (preferably dealing with personal injury or healthcare or similar experience in personal injury).
  • A formal insurance and/or legal qualification would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • A sound level of computer literacy.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Good understanding of operational systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new systems
