The Project
CPB Contractors and Downer EDI Works in a joint venture have been successful in securing the $1.18 billion design and construction contract for the Warringah Freeway upgrade. This crucial upgrade will make the Warringah Freeway more efficient and reliable through upgrading four kilometres of the Warringah Freeway, between High Street at North Sydney and Willoughby Road at Naremburn, works also include connections to the future Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link tunnel projects.
The Warringah Freeway is one of the nation's busiest and most complex road corridors and as Sydney continues to grow, the upgrade will make trips more efficient and reliable for the drivers who use it every day. Works are scheduled to commence late 2021 with the main work to start early next year. Construction is expected to take approximately five years to complete.
Your opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Contracts Administrator will support the project delivery teams with the administration of project systems, subcontract cost control and reporting, and assist with the administration of the Head Contract payment claim requirements.
Your responsibilities in the role will include:
- Implementation of reporting controls relating to subcontractors and suppliers
- Completion of Head Contract Notices relevant to subcontractor and supplier reimbursement
- Other administrative tasks relating to Head Contract payment claim administration and reporting
- Undertake monthly financial reports relating to cost and budget.
- Ensure all prepared material, documentation and correspondence is dealt with according to relevant procedures
- Manage and implement document control processes
- Relevant experience in a construction contracting environment that engages in various sub-contractor activities
- Experience with a large multi-location construction project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated understanding of commercial and financial processes
- The ability to prioritise and work effectively in a busy working environment and take initiative to resolve problems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Intermediate MS Word and Excel
- JDE experience preferred but not mandatory
- The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships internally and externally
