About the roleThe Assistant Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Coordinator to provide programs for children aged 5 – 12 years in Before School Care & After School Care at our Balgowlah location.
This is a permanent full time position term time only. There will be the option of additional casual work during the school holidays at our other local Vacation Care services.
Duties
- Working in support of the coordinator on administrative tasks and efficient day to day operation of the service.
- Regularly evaluating the program to ensure it caters for the interests and needs of school age children and meets the requirements of the 'My Time - Our Place' Framework.
- Ensure Compliance and best practice programming under the National Quality Standards and Regulations.
- Advising families about the program, policies and procedures when required.
- Working in support of the coordinator on administrative tasks and efficient day to day operation of the service.
- Completion of CHCPRT025 "Identify & report children and young people at risk" certificate or willingness to obtain
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training or willingness to obtain
- Have a current and valid Working with Children Check
- Agree to be a Responsible Person in Charge in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor
- Knowledge of regulation relevant to Outside School Hours Care under the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law.
- Qualifications or significant experience in working in outside school hours care.
- Skills and experience in team leadership.
