As the Chief Governance & Risk Officer – reporting to the Executive Director, Finance & Information, you will be providing strategic leadership, oversight and direction of the City of Parramatta Council’s governance, legal and Risk functions to ensure Council effectively meets legislating, regulatory and compliance requirements.As part of the senior leadership team, a key focus of the role will also be to embed a culture of continuous improvement, providing innovative inspiring leadership, together with an unwavering commitment to the Parramatta region, its people, and their future.About You
As the role is focused upon organisational-wide governance risk management, strategy, and direction, we are therefore seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with demonstrated leadership abilities in a senior capacity. Well-developed stakeholder management skills are a must, as is the ability to interact and operate within a highly regulated and complex area of government.Working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and best practice in relation to Local Government is essential, and ideally previous oversight of in-house legal counsel services within the Government sector.Lastly, the position will suit an individual who is passionate about community and people leadership, is committed to delivering on a long-term strategy and who has a strong sense of integrity.This appointment will pay up to $275,000 inclusive of superannuation.For a copy of the comprehensive candidate brochure, please contact Tamar Aslanian or Clive Brown on: lg@capstonerecruitment.com.au
