About the business:
Refuel Australia is a respected distributor of quality Ampol fuels and lubricants throughout the Pilbara, Midwest, Gascoyne and Murchison areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory from Darwin to Alice Springs.
We currently employ 140 people across WA and NT located in 14 depots and offices. We have 36 unmanned OPT (Outdoor Payment Terminal) sites and 4 roadhouses.
About the role:
Reporting to the Pilbara Operations Manager the Assistant Depot Manager is part of the larger Refuel Australia Pt Hedland team of 20 people and works closely with and supports the Pilbara Operations Manager to ensure effective planning and processes for efficient operations in the region and providing the highest level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Pre-load combinations at terminal with diesel and or petrol as directed by Scheduler of Pilbara Operations Manager.
• Assist in coordinating maintenance management of heavy vehicle fleet.
• Move equipment as required between Refuel yards to enable maximum productivity.
• Deliver to and pick up trucks and trailers from contractors in line with maintenance requirements.
• Be involved in scheduling of driver team to, in time, provide cover when Scheduler is on leave.
• As directed by Pilbara Operations Manager, assist with customer site visits and the development of journey management plans and site maps.
• Assist in identifying sales opportunities.
• Undertake delivery of packaged lubricants.
• Assist with general maintenance of fleet to individual skill level.
• Back-up driver if required.
• Undertake daily tank dipping and meter reading.
• Assist with the preparation of periodically scheduled reports, collation of information related to compliance and safety and administrative tasks as required.
Relevant experience and qualifications:
• Previous experience in the bulk fuel industry and or transport industry as a fuel tanker driver or in an operational role.
• MC licence.
• DG licence preferred not essential (must be able to obtain).
• SLP accreditation preferred not essential.
• Basic fatigue management certificate.
• Forklift ticket.
• Good basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently
• Effective organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Good communication skills and a courteous and professional attitude.
