Port Hedland Depot Manager

This role will be based at our Port Hedland Depot.

Position: Port Hedland Depot Manager 

Role Overview: Working closely with the Operations Manager Hot Shots and General Manager of Fleet you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operational of the Port Hedland depot, building relationships with new and existing clients both over the phone and face to face and seeking out opportunities to expand our hotshot services within Port Hedland and the surrounds.

This position requires a driven individual with a passion for the transport industry, a commitment to providing premium services, proven track record client management and a solid understanding of fatigue regulations and long-distance driving requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organize and lead a team of drivers to ensure every hot shot delivery is serviced in a safe, professional and timely manner.
2. Build relationships with new and existing clients both over the phone and face to face
3. Actively researching business opportunities and viable income streams within the Pilbara region and driving growth working closely with the sales division.
4.  Ensure a proactive response to urgent freight requirements.
5. Assist with forklift duties, including preparing freight for loading and delivery to customers
6. Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills in a fast-paced transport environment.
7. Provide clear communication to drivers and team members for effective route organization, considering long-distance driving requirements.
8. Be available for on-call duties after hours and on weekends, exhibiting dedication and a proactive mindset.
9. Management and training of drivers to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard and compliance for timesheets and fatigue management documents

1. Proven experience in a fast-paced transport environment.
2. Ability to think creatively and proactively solve challenges.
3. Passion for the transport industry with a commitment to excellence.
4. Exceptional people skills with a communicative and driven approach to sales.
5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
6. Understanding of fatigue regulations and long-distance driving requirements.
7. Ability to provide premium customer service aligned with our core values.
8. Flexibility to take calls after hours and on weekends.
9. Forklift and HR drivers licence
