The role – Assistant Development Manager
An Assistant Development Manager will be responsible for assisting the Land Development team in all aspects of the land development life cycle from land identification and feasibility to design and finally through the construction, delivery of the completed allotments.
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic self-starter, someone who can work both autonomously and within a team environment. The role is suited to a recent graduate who is looking to learn client side project management skills with an interest in pursuing a career within the land development industry.
Key responsibilities of this challenging and rewarding role include:
- Assist the Development Manager to coordinate and deliver on all aspects of a land development project from Concept/Feasibility to design through to construction and delivery.
- Assist the DM in managing budgets and programs to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner in accordance with the acquisition strategy and feasibility.
- Assist the DM in managing key stakeholder relationships both internal and external
- Coordination and providing direction where required to external consultants including Engineers, Landscape Architects and Urban Planners.
- Preparation of reports, budgets and forecasts in line with financial management targets.
- Contributing to sales and marketing activities and the acquisition of future projects.
The candidate
First and foremost we are looking for someone with a “can do” attitude, a motivated team player and problem solver with the following essential attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Property or a related discipline.
- Recent Graduate to three years’ experience having worked for an engineering consultancy builder/contractor or developer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail. The ability to prioritise effectively and thrive in a busy and varied environment.
- Problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to think outside of the square.
- A car and valid driver’s licence
