Context statement
The Land Development Corporation (LDC) is a Government Business Division. LDC is responsible for delivering strategic
land throughout the Northern Territory.
Primary objective
Under the direction of the Project Director and Senior Development Manager provide project and development
management services to deliver residential, industrial and commercial land developments.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide project management support for the delivery of land development projects, in a politically and commercially
sensitive environment.
2. Undertake sensitive communications with public and private sector stakeholders at all levels, recognising their differing
requirements and values.
3. Monitor the timely and successful delivery of projects by providing project administrative support for project meetings,
including documentation and following up on meeting outcomes.
4. Conduct and manage the procurement and commissioning of consultants, contractors, utility entities and others in the
delivery of services relating to land development, including project management of planning, design and civil works
construction.
5. Coordinate the delivery of land for development, including applications for approvals (e.g. environmental, sub-division,
zoning, access and utilities) in accordance with the Corporation’s development objectives.
6. Prepare Ministerial briefings and correspondence involving technical and financial land development matters in a timely
manner.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in relation to land development.
2. Perceptive communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to provide clear and concise communications to
public and private sector stakeholders including to people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
3. Demonstrated contract management skills, including procurement and management of consultants and contractors.
4. Working knowledge of land development legislation (including Work Health Safety), stakeholder bodies, processes,
practices, and information systems and documentation to plan and deliver land for development.
5. Demonstrated financial and analytical skills including budgeting, programming and an understanding of feasibility analysis
relating to land development projects.
Desirable
1. Tertiary/industry qualifications and/or experience in project management, civil engineering or related property discipline.
2. A current ‘C’ Class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
