The Role
As an Assistant Director you will be responsible for contract performance, design, and improvement and will harness strong relationships across the teams and with key stakeholders to achieve results.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Negotiate and manage contracts for waste management goods and services to meet government and customer requirements
- Research and analyse contract-related and technical information, including supplier reporting, and environmental requirements related to contemporary waste management practices
- Compose and maintain up-to-date data contract documentation to ensure timely communication with key stakeholders and adherence to the approved budget footprint
- Plan, budget, manage risk, and contribute to organisational policies and procedures
- Interpret and apply legislation and provide advice and recommendations to; operational staff, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee projects and systems, working closely with industry to improve operational efficiency and service delivery outcomes
- Provide high-level advice and recommendations on best-practice contract management and quality control
- Assess and manage contractor compliance and performance against work, health, and safety and environmental requirements
- Produce reports regarding contract activity, compliance and performance
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement outcomes, efficiency, and value for money
Your Background and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and capabilities:
- Experience managing a portfolio of outsourced services, including establishing and improving governance
- Contract management and procurement skills, including developing and or/varying contracts to be fit for purpose, managing financials, contractor compliance and performance
- Interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to negotiate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to research and analyse diverse information including commercial, legislation, technical information, and performance metrics in recommending solutions to resolve problems and/or improve outcomes
- Organisational and innovative working abilities, with proven skills in identifying, planning, and delivering work programs in high pressure work environments
Salary / Rate
- $113k – $122k + 10% super
- Permanent position
- Activity based/ flexible working – 3 days from home and 2 days in the office
