The NT Department of Treasury and Finance’s Economic Policy unit provides high level research, analysis, and strategic advice on complex economic, commercial, corporate governance and regulatory priorities.
As Assistant Director (Ref No. 32206) you will:
- Lead and manage detailed analysis and evaluation of policies and issues affecting the Territory.
- Lead and develop policy and regulatory frameworks, briefings, and research papers.
- Prepare high level documentation including ministerial briefings, policy advice, reports, and discussion papers.
- Lead and develop team members (graduates through to Principal Analysts) to support the delivery of high-quality analysis and the capability growth of the Economic Policy unit.
- Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships across government including representing Treasury and the Territory on interdepartmental committees and intergovernmental forums.
- Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of policies and issues affecting the Territory.
- Provide high level evidence-based advice on key priorities and issues.
- Advise and provide analytical support to policy initiatives/regulatory reforms.
- Prepare high level documents including ministerial briefings, policy advice, reports, and discussion papers.
- Engage and mentor analysts contributing to your allocated assignments/projects.
- Develop collaborative relationships across Treasury and other government agencies.
- Strong economic / commercial policy skills and experience.
- Stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Inclusive and contemporary leadership (for Assistant Director role).
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) complex matters to different stakeholders.
- A tertiary qualification in an analytical discipline (highly desirable).
