What Aurora Dairies can offer you

Aurora Dairies are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Jancourt East, located near Simpson in Western Victoria.

The farm is approximately 310ha effective area, currently milking 550 Friesian cows, through a 40 bail rotary shed with ACR’s and auto teat spray. GEA Dairy Plan is used for herd recording and the farm is predominantly pasture based with grain fed in the dairy. This farm is 50% Autumn and 50% Spring calving starting in March and late August.

A 3 bedroom home may be available for the right candidate and we may have employment opportunities for your partner on one of our nearby farms, if required.

This role will include tasks the areas of:

• Supporting the Farm Manager as second in charge.
• Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
• Herd management and nutrition, including calving, hospital herd care, AI/mating planning, dairy shed work and more.
• Irrigation and pasture management.
• Supervising staff.
• Machinery operation.
• Repairs and maintenance.

The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:

• Extensive dairy industry experience (a minimum of 3 years).
• Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired.
• Committed to ensuring a safe workplace.
• Reliable and punctual and ability to take responsibility.
• Good work ethic and positive attitude.
• Leadership skills and team player.
