Job description

The role 

Reporting to the Team Lead Accounts Payable, you will undertake payment of accounts utilising the Vendor Invoice Management System (VIM), including but not limited to purchase orders, non-purchase orders and staff claims.  In preparations for the payment of accounts you will ensure that all payments are completed within relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function, accurately, efficiently and within departmental priorities. You will input, update and retrieve data from the current Queensland Health Finance systems, S4 Hana and VIM. In addition, you will also provide advice on accounts payable issues through communication and consultation with vendors, customers and Queensland Health.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Knowledge of an integrated financial management system and other software applications (eg databases, spreadsheets) relevant to an accounts payable unit, including data entry and retrieval skills.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures applicable to the accounts payable function consistent with the Department of Health and other government agency directives.
  • High standard of communication, problem solving and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, meet deadlines and organize work priorities.
  • Ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with team members, vendors and corporate divisions stakeholders.
