Your New Role:
An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Financial Controller to join a leading global business services organization based in Sydney's CBD. As a key leader within the team, you will oversee accounting operations, provide guidance to staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties:
Accounting Operations Management:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Analyze financial results, identifying discrepancies and implementing process improvements.
- Serve as an IFRS accounting subject matter expert, advising on accounting treatments and ensuring compliance.
- Oversee workers compensation accounting, including forecasting and alignment with OHS teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet reporting deadlines and provide support as needed.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise accounting team activities, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop staff, offering regular feedback and growth opportunities.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance:
- Prepare financial statements and manage external and internal audits.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
About You:
- CA qualification with technical excellence in IFRS.
- Proactive with high attention to detail.
- Blend of audit and commercial experience, with 8+ years in a commercial setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across the business.
- Proven track record of process improvement and implementation.
- High-level computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Leadership and management abilities.
