SportsPower Pinjarra is local at heart. We know our community and are actively involved in supporting local teams and organisations with the best personalised service in WA.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help run the day to day business. This is an exciting role perfect for an individual looking to develop their management skills alongside an experienced Store Manager. We would love an individual with great energy, level headed, people-focused and an ability to handle systems and processes. We can consider either full or part-time.
Naturally, you will love sports like we do, meaning you want your customers to be well equipped and look great while they engage in their favourite sports.
We understand your first and most important question – “…what’s in it for me”?
Here’s a few things to set your mind at ease:
- We offer a competitive salary
- Reasonable working hours
- You will be entitled to attractive staff discounts across a group of businesses
- Our work environment reflects the fact that we humans need to spend our time in a friendly, supportive environment – we take this stuff seriously, and think you’ll appreciate the difference with us!
The Assistant Manager position will also provide you with an opportunity to express your inner creativity and flair for visual merchandising.
Who are we looking for?
Customer service is what sets us apart – so, you will need to have what it takes to engage with each and every customer in a way that ensures they want to come back.
Sales is not a difficult role, but it’s not for everyone. We expect our staff to look after customers from the moment they walk in the door, until they leave, happy with their newly purchased items. This simply means smiling and being courteous, listening carefully and imparting your knowledge, before completing the transaction efficiently.
But, sales is just one part of the job. As Assistant Manager, you will adopt a leadership role in the store, helping to guide, train, mentor and motivate staff. You’ll also help take care of store administration. Experience with computers is helpful in this position.
What will I do, day-to-day?
You will divide your time during the day, working closely with the manager and independently, developing your team and making sales on the floor.
Another element of the role is the ability to merchandise the stock so the store is always well presented and product is easy to find.
There’ll also be some back-office style work, like entering stock into the system, stocktaking and other stock control processes.
To sum up!
As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in running the day-to-day business, and will be given the responsibility of doing so independently when the manager is out of the store. We therefore value integrity, energy, creativity and a great work ethic – someone who is:
- An experienced retailer
- Competent providing direction and managing staff
- Reliable and trustworthy, and able to open and close the store independently
- Passionate about sports, but is able to work allocated hours, which may involve some weekend days, when sports are normally played
- Experience with computers and point of sale systems
- Connected in the wider local community , with ties to local sporting clubs and organisations – not essential, but would be very helpful in your application!
Keen to apply?!
FANTASTIC! Send us your CV and we will see if you’re a good fit. Applications addressing the above criteria will be seriously considered.
