The Lupin Co is a 100% Australian owned and operated food company, located in Western Australia. We are serious about making people’s lives healthier by putting a little Australian Sweet lupin food into their pantries. We are also a vertically integrated company including prime Australian Sweet Lupin farms, we have a custom-built manufacturing and packing facility near Bullsbrook, and we distribute a range of food and ingredients direct to consumers through our on-line store, retail, food service and commercial scale products locally and globally.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Manufacturing to play a crucial role in managing our market-leading facility in Bullsbrook, Western Australia. Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director, you’ll be responsible for the efficient, safe and profitable running of the day-to-day operations whilst ensuring we are maintaining the highest level of quality for our customers.
This role is suited to a self-motivated individual with a food or light-industry manufacturing background. Development capability and motivation to take over the Manager of Manufacturing role is essential over the next 12-18 months. It is also essential to hold a current drivers license and either have or be prepared to achieve a Forklift/EWP license.
A knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP is an ideal attribute to assist our aim towards achieving BRCGS certification in Q2, 2024.
Applicants who do not have direct experience in this area are encouraged to apply if they have an aptitude towards light machinery and processes with a high degree of focus on quality systems delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating and implementing daily job functions.
- Operating and maintaining production equipment.
- Arranging the storage of Lupin and other products.
- Assist with engaging and managing casual and part-time staff.
- Packing products into retail and other packs.
- Managing stock control.
- Recording production data and associated reporting.
- Assisting with the distribution of lupin products at the Bullsbrook facility.
- Implementing building, plant and equipment hygiene by cleaning and replenishment, using control measures to assist with pest management.
- Assisting with engineering tasks to ensure equipment is maintained.
- Assisting the development of operations and maintenance systems .
- Coordinating receival of whole lupins from suppliers, including operating receival equipment
- Assisting with customer service to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Coordinate continuous improvement within the manufacturing operations.
