About the Role:
- DIDO / BIBO ( from Emerald, Bundaberg, Rockhampton)
- 7:7 Roster ( Wednesday to Tuesday day shift)

With newly awarded contracts at Rolleston mine in the Bowen Basin we are looking for experienced Assistant Shotfirers to join our growing business.
Reporting to the Blast Services Supervisor, you will act as frontline customer facing personnel and product steward in the daily work environment on the customer site.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Demonstrate an excellent attitude and commitment to comply with Safety and Health standards and policies, including producing Take 5’s and attending pre-shift meetings
- Assist with the preparation of blast areas
- Assisting the priming, loading, stemming, and firing of blast holes
- Assist with misfire management
- Assist the Shotfirer with on-bench blasting activities
- Assist with preventative maintenance and upkeep of the equipment
- Safely operate stemming truck and front end loader
The Successful Applicant Will Possess:
- Preferably experience in working in an open cut mining environment
- An understanding of legislation relevant to the open cut mining environment is desirable
- Prior blast crew experience, including priming of holes, loading / off side MPU, tying in and stemming of blast holes
- A strong work ethic with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Excellent written and oral skills
- A desire to embrace AECI’s Zero Harm approach and our values and vision to be the supplier of choice for customers in the explosives market
- Current Standard 11 and CBM
- Current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
- RII Support shot firing operations
- RII Store handle and transport explosives
- Current Queensland dangerous goods drivers licence advantageous
- RII Operate heavy rigid vehicle advantageous
