Margaret River Golf Club is an easy 7km drive from the centre of town. the challenging par 72 (par 73 for women) course is one of western Australia's most highly regarded country courses and would be a highlight of any golfing tour of the South West. the course is set on 65 hectares of original and natural bushland near the mouth of the Margaret River and winds its way up and down the slopes of the coastal ridge. This spectacular setting is complemented by an abundance of flora and fauna, native and local trees.
Margaret River GC is now seeking to appoint a highly motivated Individual to fill the role of Assistant Superintendent.
Reporting directly to the Course Superintendent, the successful applicant will possess and be able to demonstrate exceptional communication, people and leadership skills. The ability to multi-task and manage time effectively is also very important.
The Assistant Superintendent will have extensive knowledge on fine turf management, machinery, irrigation and have an understanding of the game of golf. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for assisting all aspects of golf course maintenance, be responsible for leading and motivating the team alongside the Course Superintendent.
Desired Attributes
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management, Certificate 4
- Recognized AQF3 Chemical Certification
- Self-motivated with a hands-on ‘can do’ attitude and high attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and prepared to work weekends when required
- A high standard of workmanship
- Have a knowledge of all aspects of irrigation, including installation, repairs, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Experience operating all turf equipment
- Proven ability to work and troubleshoot arising issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound knowledge of both Workplace Safety and Environmental Management
- Experience in construction is highly desirable
