Job description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced greenkeeper to work alongside our Golf Course Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and caring for golf courses, as well as the ability to supervise a team.

A passion for golf and a desire to continuously improve the course is essential for this role. The primary responsibility will be to ensure that the golf course and its surroundings are maintained to the highest possible standard.

The successful applicant must be self-motivated, punctual, and able to work in all weather conditions. This role requires someone who is dedicated to their work and has a strong work ethic.

The Cut Golf Course, located in Dawesville on the Indian Ocean, is a highly regarded golf course that has consistently been ranked among Australia's top 20 public access courses. This true 18-hole links layout offers stunning views and a range of amenities. The Cut Golf Course is a destination for golfers seeking a memorable and challenging golfing experience. With its stunning location, top-notch facilities, and dedicated staff, it is a must-visit for golf enthusiasts in the Perth area and beyond.

This is a full-time wage position with weekend work on a rotating roster whilst working in a great team environment. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the golf course and surrounding areas to the highest standard
  • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in daily maintenance tasks
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the team of greenkeepers
  • Operate and maintain equipment used for course maintenance
  • Identify and address any issues or problems related to the course's condition
  • Implement and follow all safety procedures and regulations
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in greenkeeping or turf management
  • Proven experience in golf course maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass and plant care
  • Ability to operate and maintain various maintenance equipment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

These essential skills and experience will contribute to the success of the greenkeeper in maintaining The Cut Golf Course to the highest standard and providing an exceptional golfing experience for all players.

More Details

This role will be pivotal to the ongoing standards of presentation for the course and surrounding areas, responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Course Superintendent with planning operations, and ensuring all tasks are conducted correctly and on time.
  • Course maintenance and improvement
  • Correct fertiliser/ chemical application and recording
  • Irrigation system maintenance and management 
  • Irrigation installation and troubleshooting  
  • Adherence to WHS and environmental regulations
  • Undertake various course maintenance duties including, mowing, bunker refurbishment, turf renovation, scarifying, coring, top dressing and landscaping as required.
  • Would be included in weekend roster.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, the greenkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of presentation at The Cut Golf Course and contribute to providing an exceptional golfing experience for all players.

Conditions of employment:
  • Standard work week is Monday to Friday, with regularly rostered weekend work.
  • Immediate start is available for the right person.

This position will commence on a 3-month probation (working full-time equivalent hours). 

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and career orientated individual to be part of a committed team. The successful applicant will report directly to the Course Superintendent.
