Assistant Tax Accountant

Our Taxation Practice has been operating in the northern area since 1982 servicing the needs of our valued clients across a wide variety of industries such as primary production, retail, transport, building and construction just to name a few. 

The Role:

• Prepare tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and individuals.
• prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and FBT returns. 
• liaise with the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC and other regulatory bodies.
• liaise with clients regarding technical matters and compliance obligations.
• Be part of a small team of accountants and bookkeepers that work together to get the job done.

• Ability to learn/adapt quickly. 
• A pro-active approach to your work
• Ability to manage high volumes of work and to work to strict deadlines.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• An ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Able to build and maintain client relationships. 

Qualifications that you need:

• Completed University degree or TAFE Diploma in accounting.
• Good working knowledge and Experience of MYOB, Xero and 
  Microsoft Office (Word, excel and outlook) 
• Familiarity with MYOB Accountants Enterprise (not essential but will benefit)
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, income tax, GST and relevant taxation acts and legislation
• A sound working knowledge of companies, trusts and partnerships. 
• Minimum of 3-5 years of tax accounting experience 
• Member of IPA
