Shadowfax Wines is seeking a full time Assistant Vineyard Manager to work across all aspects of vineyard operations located in the cool climate Macedon Region of Victoria, 1 hour North West of Melbourne.
Working closely with the Vineyard Manager to provide premium fruit from our estate vineyards in Little Hampton and Werribee as well as multiple small vineyards in the Macedon Ranges region (95 acres in total), the successful applicant will be a driven individual with experience in cool climate viticulture, a passion for wine and suitable experience to enable them to be independent, organised and hands on, with the skills to manage contractors and casual staff when required.
You will be part of a small, dedicated vineyard and winemaking team focused on positive workplace engagement, final wine quality, site expression, long term vineyard health & sustainability, working with a holistic approach and belief that the best wine is grown in the vineyard.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Machinery operation
- Care and maintenance of machinery
- Irrigation maintenance and operation
- Pruning and canopy management
- Pest, weed and disease management
- Vineyard monitoring
- Managing contractors and casual staff when required
- Opportunity to assist in cellar during busy periods
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3 Years experience in vineyard operations
- Experience in viticultural machinery operation and maintenance
- Driver license
- Ability to work flexible hours and be willing to work overtime during harvest and other busy periods
- Strong work ethic with ability to work within a team and independently
