Job Title: Associate / GIS Team Leader

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee the GIS team, ensuring effective management and coordination of all GIS Consultants. Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Project Management: Act as the primary contact on GIS projects, ensuring that projects are delivered to a high quality, on time, and within budget. Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced skills in drafting (CAD/GIS), Spatial Data management, and analysis. Provide technical knowledge for reports and calculations. Assist in on-site data capture and utilize custom real-time data collection apps.
  • Client Relations and Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored GIS solutions. Represent the GIS team in client meetings and discussions. Actively seek new business opportunities, expanding the client base and services offered by the GIS team.
  • Innovation and Development: Stay abreast of the latest GIS technologies and trends, integrating innovative solutions into the team’s work. Encourage continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all GIS work adheres to industry standards and complies with environmental regulations. Oversee the preparation and visualization of Rehabilitation Management Plans and compliance documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced degree in GIS, spatial sciences, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in GIS, with a proven track record of managing teams and Projects.
  • Strong technical proficiency in GIS software and tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and business development skills, with an ability to lead, inspire a team, and cultivate client relationships.
  • Strong organizational and Project management skills.
  • Commitment to IEMA’s values of environmental stewardship and community improvement.

Job Title: GIS Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise and Project Support: Demonstrate proficiency in drafting (CAD/GIS), Spatial Data management, and analysis. Provide technical support and knowledge for GIS projects, contributing to reports and calculations. Assist in on-site data capture and utilize custom real-time data collection apps. Support the GIS Team Leader in project execution and coordination, ensuring effective use of online GIS platforms for data sharing and collaboration.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Manage and analyze Spatial Data effectively, ensuring data quality and integrity. Work collaboratively with various departments to support the smooth execution of GIS projects.
  • Innovation and Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest GIS technologies and trends, integrating innovative solutions into your work. Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance technical skills.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to industry standards in GIS work, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Assist in the preparation and visualization of Rehabilitation Management Plans, and compliance documentation under the guidance of the GIS Team Leader.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the GIS team, contributing to a supportive and innovative work environment. Support the GIS Team Leader in fostering team cohesion and effective project execution.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in GIS, spatial sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in GIS with strong technical proficiency in GIS software and tools.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to environmental stewardship and community improvement as per IEMA’s values.
