GenesisCare now has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Business Development Manager to join our Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) Team. This role is responsible for the growth of the CRO business and to foster strategic partnerships alongside the Head of CRO and Research Strategy Proposal Developer.

This position plays a pivotal role in expanding our footprint within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries contributing to innovative solutions that improve cancer patients' life outcomes.

Reporting the Head of CRO, this full-time role can be based in New South Wales, Victoria, or Queensland - working remotely.

More specifically, you will:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities and potential challenges in cancer care.
  • Develop and implement strategic Business Development plans aligned with the CRO's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academic institutions and key stakeholders within the oncology and radiopharmaceutical field.
  • Collaborate with existing clients to understand their evolving needs and ensure customer satisfaction and relevant agreements are maintained.
  • Seamless execution of client integration into the business.
  • Collaborate with Clinical operations team to ensure smooth execution of projects and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities including collaborations, partnerships and contract research projects to expand the CROs portfolio.
  • Assist with budget and proposals development and presentations to potential and existing clients.
  • Responsible for end-to-end proposal development through to signing and handover to Projects team in an efficient, timely manner.
  • Balance the portfolio of clients to ensure CRO profitability in the short and long term through a mix of projects and partnerships.
  • Implement marketing strategies to enhance the CRO's visibility and position as a leader in oncology and radiopharmaceutical research.
  • Contract negotiation, management and administration
  • Review, negotiate, and track legal documents, facilitating legal review as appropriate.
  • Revise or develop contract and related budgets and scope of work. Ensure the scope of work is defined correctly and budgets reflect the scope. Ensure any changes are integrated into the main study contract efficiently and accurately.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Three (3) years of direct experience in a CRO
  • Previous experience in a Business Development Manager role within research, health or pharmaceuticals is highly regarded.
  • High level negotiation, relationship building and influencing abilities.
  • Highly analytical and strategic thinker with astute customer service skills.
  • Strong presentation skills both in person and written.
  • Confident, high emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust and relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including colleagues, clients, vendors, service providers, consultants, collaboration partners and clinical sites in a highly professional manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an effective, proactive & co-operative manner.
  • Ability to combine strategic outlook with detail orientation.
  • High level of initiative and flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
