A fantastic permanent opportunity for an Associate in Corporate and Institutional Banking Operations has arisen, and we are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual to join us.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Specialised Transaction Management, this key role manages the day to day activities to support the operation and execution of bespoke specialised transactions originated by the Trustee and Agency (Corporate Trust) business Unit within Corporate and Institutional Bank. Corporate Trust transactions broadly comprise of the trustee, agent and custodial function for issuer trusts, reinsurance trusts, managed investments schemes, custody and escrow.
This role is critical in ensuring an efficient and effective best practice service delivery of transaction support and oversight to business partners and ensuring that work is dealt with efficiently and in accordance with the transaction documentation, policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with Associate Directors and Senior Associates on the ongoing management of portfolio transactions, execution, restructures and terminations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the legal, regulatory, financial and operational framework of the transactions.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the Transaction Events Diary to ensure that all transaction-related covenants and obligations are monitored and actioned in accordance with transaction documentation by their respective deadline dates.
- Liaise with external services providers (audit, legal counsel, tax) as required.
- Perform annual and ad hoc distributions/dividends for NAB subsidiary entities and product vehicles.
- Execute customer payment and trade instructions.
- Complete NAB group entity and product vehicle tax obligations.
- Undertake month/quarter end accounting and reconciliation requirements for NAB subsidiary entities and product vehicles.
- Perform annual transaction reviews.
- Contribute to quarterly subsidiary governance and board reporting.
- Champion, identify and action on-going process improvement amongst the wider team with a view to mitigating operational risk, eliminating inefficiency and adding greater value.
What skills and attributes will I need?
To be considered for this role you will be an enthusiastic, experienced, and skilled individual, ideally with possessing a minimum 1-2 years of financial services experience. Tertiary level accounting/finance knowledge and some relevant practical and commercial accounting experience and CPA/CA qualification (or working towards one) would be favourably regarded.
The successful candidate will possess advanced analytical aptitude and strong organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to prioritise competing obligations. You will combine attention to detail with a capacity to 'see the big picture'. The successful applicant will have a 'can do' attitude coupled with a willingness and ability to continuously learn. As this is a team orientated environment, the successful candidate must be able to support their colleagues in a positive and inclusive manner.
