Join our Global Market Risk team based in Sydney and help lead a team responsible for running and maintaining the Capital Calculation engine for Macquarie’s markets facing activities.

What role will you play?
As an Associate Director, you will engage directly with the regulator (APRA) to ensure the bank is compliant with APS116 requirements. You will provide strategic direction to the team, ensure governance, maintain and enhance frameworks and provide oversight on controls, including challenging them and building new controls. You will work closely with Market Risk Trading Analysts, Prudential Risk and Senior Stakeholders across the organisation and be working with the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) project teams as part of the transition to the new FRTB regulatory framework.
What you offer
Extensive experience in risk management, from either Operational Risk, Prudential risk, Market risk, Assurance or Audit gained within the Financial Services industry
Working knowledge of regulations in the Australian Financial Services industry, together with a commercial and analytical mindset to make sound recommendations on Market Risk capital issues
Ability to partner with stakeholders to influence favourable outcomes through effective communication skills
A strong understanding of APS116 and FRTB will be highly regarded
Quantitative ability and strong numeracy is advantageous.

In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include behavioural risk, compliance, credit, financial crime risk, internal audit, Market Risk, operational risk and governance, prudential risk, and Risk Management Group central.
