Current opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, community-driven, investment and growth advisor to join our market leading startups and venture growth team. This role would suit an experienced or exited founder/startup executive, entrepreneur-in-residence, or program manager of entrepreneurship-support-organisations.
The Associate Director of BDO for Startups will be responsible for program delivery, workshop facilitation, venture growth advisory, business development, and day-to-day management for our startup and scale-up initiatives and community.
Responsibility for BDO's specialist programs for high growth businesses - design, recruitment and delivery.
Delivery and facilitation of cohort-centric groups, and tailored advisory workshops.
Business advisory specialising in early stage capital raising and operations of high growth businesses.
Founder and executive accountability and mentoring.
Business development activities and concierge of clients across firm's service lines.
Brand promotion, community/ecosystem management, development and engagement.
Ideally you'll have the following:
Solid business and commercial acumen, familiarity with software engineering principles, revenue management, and product-market fit.
Strong understanding of startup financing and operations
Deep understanding of the startup “scene” and or the small business community across Australia, and established connections with influencers in these communities.
Previous experience as a startup founder/entrepreneur, venture capital/portfolio management, business incubation and acceleration programs.
Previous experience in presenting/facilitation, advisory and sales/business development.
Previous experience in program management and/or startup community management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with experience of working/liaising with clients.
Qualification in accounting, business management or a related discipline
