An exciting opportunity exists for the Associate Nurse Educator - Practice Development to function within a team-based model of education service delivery and be involved with the planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting of education: primarily training programs related to Requisite Education Framework compliance.
The Associate Nurse Educator works in a centralised team-based model as part of the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Team and will primarily be required to deliver training in programs related to Requisite Education Framework compliance, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BLS, Patient Handling, etc.. A clinical background in critical care nursing will be highly desirable.
The Associate Nurse Educator is expected to demonstrate an advanced level of autonomous professional practice and decision making in collaboration with the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Team (NMPDT) members and there is a requirement for the role to travel to, and work regularly from, all sites across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).
Key Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to education to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 2 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
