About the Role:
Join our team as an Associate Nurse Manager in a part-time ,ongoing position to work at the Acute Assessment Unit at Dandenong Hospital.
This is an ongoing part-time opportunity available working 64 hours a fortnight.
We are seeking a clinical leader wishing to develop into an Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) role, focused on the clinical development of staff, improving the patient experience and being open to innovative and collaborative ideas.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the ANM will develop themselves as a leader; being responsible for the clinical and operational outcomes of patients and staff alike. The ANM will proactively contribute to our vision of "exceptional care, outstanding outcomes".
With proven communication and employee management skills, the ANM will be responsible for rostering, and maintaining a safe skill mix according to the Safe Patient Act and is expected to be a proactive leader in quality and safety; taking on a portfolio to improve our service and action any gaps in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS).
You will engage in activities to service career progression; taking on professional development opportunities and theoretical studies.
You will also be responsible for ensuring staff and undergraduates are working within their Scope of Practice; developing those who will be responsible for the management of high acuity care.
Ensure timely discharge planning and facilitate the consumer's safe and effective transition from hospital to home by way of referral to appropriate health resources and services.
About Us:
AAU is undertaking re-development of their General Surgical Unit with some medical outliers. AAU will service 16 beds, admitting patients with, but not limited to general plastic, orthopaedic, colorectal and general surgeries. These patients are projected to have a 24-72hrs stay following assessment and treatment. Further admitted days will result in intra-ward transfers for ongoing care.
About You:
You might currently be developing your management and leadership skills, and are looking for an opportunity to step up to ANM, or you might be an accomplished ANM looking for a new unit. This role will see you liaising with a wide set of stakeholders, both internally and with our external referral partners, so the ability to build strong relationships will see you is central to your success

You communicate clearly and effectively and are able to build rapport and engage with others at all levels to deliver outcomes in a timely manner

You also thrive on continuous improvement and are ideally working towards a Post Graduate Certificate, Diploma or Master of Clinical Management.
Proven clinical experience in an acute hospital unit
