About the Role
The Midwife Manager – Ruby Team Leader is jointly responsible for the management of the Pregnancy Care Clinics (PCC). Ruby Team Leader is primarily responsible for the operational running of the PCC and the team that supports their lead. It is a position that requires both clinical and management hours, equating to 50% of each over full time hours. We present an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to primarily focus on helping us cultivate and develop our service for Casey which is located at our Pakenham Community Centre, to give the highest standard of care to the women and their families in our rapidly growing community.
This is an Ongoing Full time opportunity Monday to Friday.
Our Journey
Casey Hospital provides maternity care for 2500 women per annum with plans to increase into the future. The maternity service at Casey has three maternity teams, booking women from low to increasingly higher levels of complexity. Expanding services to Casey Hospital has led to our ability to care for women with varying levels of complexity, as we now have critical care services on site to support their journey. Casey Hospital services the Casey and Cardinia catchment areas, the most rapidly growing areas in the state. With over 2500 births annually, our birth numbers continue to grow in line with the population growth in this area. Casey Hospital pregnancy clinic facilities are run in a state of the art community clinic at Pakenham.
What You Bring
You are an experienced midwife, passionate about midwifery, with a demonstrated commitment to empowering childbearing women and their families within a service that embraces consistency of advice and continuity of philosophy. You consistently role-model midwifery excellence and are a proven leader of people, motivating your team to work effectively together in a clinical setting. You will be inspired everyday working with like-minded, passionate colleagues who share your values and purpose. To be selected for interview you will need to demonstrate:
- Postgraduate midwifery experience, including an Associate Manager or equivalent leadership role
- Demonstrated experience and recency of practice in both leadership and clinical excellence within Pregnancy Care clinics is essential due to the nature of the role.
- Skills in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of midwifery care at a consistently high standard
- A commitment to supporting midwives the opportunity to gain and maintain full scope of practice
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
- Sound communication skills, enabling the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health
- Excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- A commitment to safe practice, utilising a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
