Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Our client is a long-established and well-respected hospital that provides health care facility to the community and district serving a population base of approximately 4,000. They are one of the largest health facilities, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental
health services, aged care, specialist clinics, community programs and telehealth services.

Role Summary
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) within established policies, guidelines, and procedures of our client. Specifically, in the following:
- To provide clinical leadership to all employees to ensure that person-centered care is planned, implemented, evaluated, and maintained at a high standard.
- To acts as a professional clinical role model in setting clinical standards and achieving high quality, evidence-based nursing care.
- To demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills while assuming a management focus in the ward/unit.
- Support and promote a culture that promotes wellbeing, safety and individual and team accountability through effective hazard identification and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team and undertake the role of in charge in the absence of the NUM.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement and risk management process within the hospital.
- Liaise with Manager of Nursing Services in the development and review of clinicians annual performance reviews.
- Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with the members of the team, supporting and encouraging nurses and midwives in their work group to continuously improve their clinical practice.
Knowledge and skills
- Rural Emergency Experience
- Experience in Clinical Assessment & Referral Tools and documentation requirements.
- Understanding of National Safety Quality Health Service Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, Home and Community Care for Younger People, and Department of Veteran Affairs, and National Disability Insurance Practice Standards.
- Experience in delegating, supervising and leading staff.
Qualifications
- Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current Police Check and/or DIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check acceptable to the organization.
- Experience upgrading to Associate Nurse Unit Manager.
- Minimum of 30 hours professional development per year, and additional hours as dictated by AHPRA for secondary qualifications.

- Within the range of $105K annually depending on the experience
