Join our Team at Noarlunga Hospital and make a difference in our patient's Mental Health journeys.
The Noarlunga Emergency Mental Health Services is available 24 hours a day and works closely with the Noarlunga Hospital Emergency Department to assess and support people with diagnosed or suspected mental illness and related disorders.
About the Role:
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow and coordination of beds within the SALHN Adult Mental Health Services. You will provide daily support of established systems that function over a 24-hour period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a team and addressing inconsistencies in between practice and policies/procedures.
- Keeping up to date with professional standards of practice, implementing and monitoring evidence based on care, quality and safety initiatives.
- Dealing appropriately with mental health consumers and their families.
- Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalating appropriately.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate.
- Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse (can be Full Time Equivalent or Post Registration Experience)
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and direction of staff.
