The Role

  • Continuing, Full Time
  • Level D - AUD $157,436 to $173,330 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Level E - AUD $202,477 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Bathurst

The successful candidate will provide strong academic and research leadership within the School of Information and Communication Studies and will foster industry partnerships.

The Communication discipline at Charles Sturt is in a phase of renewal and a senior academic is being sought to provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, and industry engagement.

To be successful you will have:

  • A doctoral qualification relevant to the Communication discipline
  • Significant experience in and comprehensive knowledge of the relevant Communication discipline area and recognised as a leading authority at a national and international level
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, building and maintaining strong partnerships, networks and relationships

The Faculty of Arts and Education is one of three Faculties within the University. Academic staff within the Faculty undertake high quality, impactful research that engages with governments and professional organisations, nationally, internationally and in regional communities, ensuring excellent supervision for Higher Degree Research students.

The School of Information and Communication Studies fosters an informed community of information, library, archives, records and communication professionals and knowledge managers. The School is the leading provider in library and information education in Australia and is one of the largest in the world. Communication students explore storytelling as a multitude of possibilities in an ever-changing cultural and technological landscape. Library and Information Science (LIS) research in the School was rated 'above world standard in the most recent national assessment exercise (Excellence in Research for Australia) conducted by the Australian Research Council. Strong industry links and affiliations ensure ongoing relevance in course design, impactful research, state of the art facilities, national and international recognition of staff and students and high rates of graduate employment outcomes.
