D&S Resources is a family-owned business that operates in the Mining, Defence and Construction industry sectors providing Procurement and Project Management services.We pride ourselves on our unique ability to add value to our client's businesses by offering engineering and project management consultation, drawing on our management team's vast experience in these key areas. As our business is growing, we are looking for a Chief Information Officer to join the team on a full time basis. The pay rate for the role is $90,000 - $95,000.About the RoleThe Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the development, implementation, and management of information technology (IT) initiatives to support and enhance the efficiency, safety, and productivity of our mining operations. The CIO will play a crucial role in aligning technology solutions with the overall business objectives and ensuring the seamless integration of IT systems across mining & construction sites.You will be responsible for:
Develop and communicate the IT strategy aligned with the overall business goals.Collaborate with senior executives to understand business needs and provide strategic guidance on technology solutions.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of robust and secure IT infrastructure.
Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems supporting mining operations.
Drive the development and implementation of data management strategies for mining-
related data.
Utilise data analytics to extract insights, optimize processes, and improve decision-making.
Implement and maintain effective cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive information and mining site operations.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate IT-related risks.
Collaborate with mining and engineering teams to integrate technology solutions into mining processes for improved efficiency and safety.
Explore and implement innovations such as automation, IoT, and AI to enhance mining operations.
Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements, and ensure cost-effective and high- quality IT services.
Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that IT systems and practices comply with relevant standards and guidelines.
Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Recruit, train, and develop IT staff to meet the evolving needs of the mining site.About you:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Proven experience in a leadership role within IT, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
Strong understanding of mining operations and related technology requirements.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, data management, and technology trends.
