How will I Help?

As an Associate Relationship Manager, you will focus on supporting the Public Sector team, and be involved in developing and writing briefing papers, strategy documents, client research, pricing submissions, pricing approvals, and revenue reports as well as other ad-hoc duties. These insights will enable the Public Sector team to develop and deliver bespoke financial solutions that are in the client’s best interests.

Within WIB’s Financial Institutions, Public Sector and Health (FIPSH) industry team, the Public Sector coverage team is accountable for the strategic engagement with, and delivery of relevant products and services to Commonwealth, State/Territory, and Local Governments, including, Departments & Agencies, Statutory Authorities, State-Owned Corporations, Government Business Enterprises, Universities & TAFEs. Whilst this team is heavily focused on the Australasian market, it also covers all of Westpac's International Public Sector activities.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Industry strategy to include involvement in, coordination and delivery of:
    • Written industry strategies including related research and analysis; and 
    • Industry deep dive analysis 
    • Financial analysis
  • Providing support to the Sector Head and coverage bankers, you’ll be a core member of deal teams marketing and implementing a wide range of Institutional Banking products and services. 
  • You will also be responsible for supporting the safe operation of the Public Sector coverage team by making sure our reporting processes are successfully implemented. 
  • Support the development and execution of local sector strategy. 
  • Support the effective engagement of key stakeholders across risk, product, business development, Customer Insights and Analytics and group segments. 
  • High degree of responsiveness
  • Supporting Internal & External Client Advocacy
  • Supporting customer centric activities to include:
    • Support the coordinating and professional delivery of tailored financial and transactional solutions for customers including by developing customer presentation material. 
    • Support the preparation, maintaining, managing and execution of global account plans
    • Support the development of deep customer relationships and facilitating appropriate customer engagement across the WIB platform
