Mason Black + Mendelsons Lawyers is a medium sized, well-established law firm with offices located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. We provide specialist legal services in Commercial & Insurance Litigation and Insolvency. The Role
We now have an opportunity for a highly organised and dedicated Associate/Senior Associate to join our Insurance team in Sydney. You will have conduct of a portfolio of Insurance litigation files, acting for both the plaintiff and defendant in defended and undefended proceedings. You will also manage Paralegals and assist the senior leadership team with other matters as required.
This will include but will not be limited to:
- Liaising with clients, debtors, third parties, all courts, sheriffs, barristers and witnesses
- Bring and defend legal proceedings and run matters to arbitration / hearing
- Negotiate with other party solicitors, insurers and representatives;
- Assisting with management of Paralegals and Law Clerks
- Provide general assistance as instructed
What you’ll bring;
To be successful in this role you will have Insurance Litigation experience in the following areas;
- Public Liability
- Property damage
- Motor Vehicle damage
And will also have;
- A current practicing certificate
- 2 to 4+ years post-admission experience
- Experience working with a practice management software system such as Lexis Nexis - Affinity will be advantageous.
