Job description
We offer exceptional opportunities for our people; opportunities to work for the world’s leading businesses; to transform the status quo, and to deliver your best work, helping you and your career to thrive, while delivering unparalleled outcomes for our clients.

We provide first-rate training and development, we are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and we provide support and ways of working that help you optimise your wellbeing.
What truly defines a career with us? We recruit the best and ask for the best of you. And together, we will redefine success.
Department purpose
Throughout our international network, dispute resolution lawyers represent global businesses on litigation, arbitration and mediation matters.
We provide a full and comprehensive service in most of the world’s major countries and have dealt with many of the problems generated by changes in the financial marketplace meaning that our network is ideally placed to handle the growing number of cross-border disputes. It is this ability to manage disputes around the world and to coordinate cross-border proceedings that persuades many of our clients to instruct us.
We actively pursue all avenues of dispute resolution available and advise clients on choosing the method most appropriate to them and to a particular matter. Our main priority is to resolve disputes quickly and effectively with as little disruption to business as possible – recognition of this is central to how we approach any matter.
In each situation, our global network means we can deliver accurate, commercial advice quickly, wherever the dispute takes place. If the dispute covers multiple jurisdictions, our local experts on the ground can quickly form an international team. Our lengthy experience means we know what to expect and how to achieve results. We never lose sight of the need to tailor our approach to the needs of the client we are representing, whether they are a large corporate undertaking or a smaller enterprise.
Role purpose
We are looking for an Australian qualified Lawyer with 5 to 8 years experience to join our disputes team in Sydney, on a full-time permanent basis. We offer:
- A dynamic work environment and the opportunity to be a part of a leading international law firm.
- A variety of intellectually exciting work and the opportunity to work with other departments in an interdisciplinary way, both in Sydney and internationally.
- Opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team, closely involved in both cross-departmental and cross-border cases.
- National and international secondment programmes to allow our lawyers to work with other departments, other people and to be exposed to the different cultures that the firm encompasses.
- Dedicated local and global training programmes and organise professional training on communication, IT skills, management and business development skills.
- Outstanding academic credentials.
- Training from a top tier law firm with strong litigation experience.
- Resilient self-starter with the intellectual curiosity and versatility to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge.
- Highly motivated team player with excellent organisational skills.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and a good eye for detail.
- Entrepreneurial drive.
- Strong commercial/business acumen.
- Clear understanding of law firm economics and an understanding of the firm's strategic priorities.
- A person of sound judgement and core values, able to establish a high level of credibility.
