The Assurance Specialist will carry out the requirements of the Controls Assurance Program. This is achieved by collaboration with departments across the company to assess and test controls, make recommendations for the implementation of additional or strengthened controls and enhance/refine assurance procedures. The Assurance Specialist will work directly with the Assurance Manager, Compliance Manager and Line 2 Risk to operationalise the controls testing component of the newly implemented NobleOak Controls Assurance Program which is aligned to APRA's Prudential Standards CPS 220 Risk Management and CPS 230 Operational Risk.The Assurance Specialist will provide operational support, when required, to the NobleOak Quality Assurance team. The Assurance Specialist will complete any other assurance activities as required by the business including the implementation of review recommendations and the follow up of corrective actions.Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities * Controls Assurance Testing
- Assist with the implementation of the NobleOak Controls Assurance Program (CAP) which may include the facilitation of Internal Controls Framework training.
- Maintain CAP testing requirements across all business units - including stakeholder management.
- Evaluate the efficacy of existing controls and pinpoint areas for enhancement
- Report on operational deficiencies and ensure process gaps are rectified in a timely manner.
- Quality Assurance Testing
- Support the Assurance Manager in the day-to-day requirement of the Quality Assurance Program.
- Evaluating operational interactions and assessing them against approved Compliance and Standards Guidelines/Criteria
- Analysing Quality Assurance data evaluated in Daisee (AI QA System) and make recommendations for targeted training and coaching, or operational changes to systems. Processes, scripting etc.
- Work with operations business unit leaders to ensure Quality Assurance requirements are disseminated across the business.
- Accurate Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate assurance testing records in Gracie (NobleOak Governance, Risk and Compliance platform). This includes detailed findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Assist the Assurance Manager & Line 2 Risk in preparing comprehensive reporting for presentation to senior leadership team management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Track the implementation of review recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Collaborative Engagement:
- Partner with various departments, including Finance, Operations, Risk, People & Culture, and Compliance, to coordinate assurance activities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather information, address inquiries, and facilitate review processes.
- Accurate Documentation - Maintain accurate assurance documentation and records at all times.
- High Quality and Accurate Communication - Communication with internal stakeholders, monitoring information and provide education, training and general assistance across all teams when required.
- Stakeholder Management - Build strong relationships with leaders and internal stakeholders with the aim of providing constructive and accurate reporting and support in correcting deficient process.

- Knowledge of risk management principles and concepts.
- Detailed knowledge of Controls Assurance and testing techniques.
- Exceptional listening, analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Knowledge of Life Insurance Products including Income Protection, Trauma and Total Permanent Disability (TPD) is highly regarded.
