• 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday @ 7.6 hours per day

This encompasses but is not limited to implementation of policies and procedures, case management, and building capacity. • Managing incidents relating to allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and/or harm at an organisational level with oversight from Head of Safeguarding
• Provide accurate and prompt specialist support to staff, children and families to ensure child focused incident management
• Work with staff who have existing strong relationships with children to build their competency in supporting children and families that have been the subject of a child protection notification
• Build the knowledge and capacity of staff to prevent, identify and mitigate risks for any allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and harm using the reporting framework
• Provide case management and specialist support for incidents in relation allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and/or harm that has occurred or is occurring to a child whilst in our care, or external to the organisation
• Coach and support staff to take potential and actual child protecting matter seriously, and to respond promptly and thoroughly

What you need to succeed

• A relevant Tertiary qualification from an accredited Australian Tertiary Institution - Diploma or above
• Familiarity with Child Protection related legislation and the field of child protection
• Familiarity with the Child Safe Organisation principles and child protection system in NSW (ACT) desirable
• Experience in providing advice and guidance on child protection and child safeguarding matters
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Cleared Valid, paid work, working with Children's Check (WWCC)
