Child Wellbeing Specialist
- Permanent full time
- 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday @ 7.6 hours per day
- Managing incidents relating to allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and/or harm at an organisational level with oversight from Head of Safeguarding
- Provide accurate and prompt specialist support to staff, children and families to ensure child focused incident management
- Work with staff who have existing strong relationships with children to build their competency in supporting children and families that have been the subject of a child protection notification
- Build the knowledge and capacity of staff to prevent, identify and mitigate risks for any allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and harm using the reporting framework
- Provide case management and specialist support for incidents in relation allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect and/or harm that has occurred or is occurring to a child whilst in our care, or external to the organisation
- Coach and support staff to take potential and actual child protecting matter seriously, and to respond promptly and thoroughly
- A relevant Tertiary qualification from an accredited Australian Tertiary Institution - Diploma or above
- Familiarity with Child Protection related legislation and the field of child protection
- Familiarity with the Child Safe Organisation principles and child protection system in NSW (ACT) desirable
- Experience in providing advice and guidance on child protection and child safeguarding matters
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Cleared Valid, paid work, working with Children's Check (WWCC)
