About us Moneycare Program is part of the Community Support Service network of programs and related services which aim to alleviate financial hardship by supporting those who are in hardship due to financial difficulties or crises, by gaining the increased capability to act independently and self-sufficiently. Primary Purpose of the role We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Financial Capability Worker, who will sit under the mentorship of the Financial Counsellor to provide Financial Capability services that help eligible people to build longer-term capability to budget and make informed choices about their money in the future.
These services provide financial literacy education one-on-one budgeting support to individuals and/or non-accredited financial literacy community education workshops to eligible people. As a Financial Capability worker, you will support eligible people with employment readiness through improving financial knowledge, skills and capabilities to assist them to achieve employment. What a day in the life will look like Deliver financial literacy education workshops with a strong focus on supporting people to build longer term capability by developing skills to plan for their financial future Community members are assisted to access other support services and establish community supports if applicable

The Salvation Army standards and procedures. A constant quality improvement is maintained by including community feedback and encouraging individual input and participation in team efforts and review process. What you will bring Financial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtain is desirable Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language Knowledge of local Aboriginal Communities, Culture and connection to mob Demonstrated ability to work with people suffering difficulties and crisis Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity A national police record check is required Relevant state
