Position: Disability Support Worker – Alice Springs
Duties consist of the following:
- Substantial assistance for clients’ daily living tasks. This includes
bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating, all aimed at
preserving clients independence and improving their quality of life;
- Assist clients with travel / transportation;
- Support and assistance to help clients participate in community-based
activities and events;
- Support clients with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and
maintaining home;
- Assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming; toileting and
bladder/bowel management, rating and drinking, attending various
appointments; aids, appliances, and communication devices, mobility
and transfers.
- Other relevant Disability Support duties.
Following skills are required:
- Certificate IV in Disability or closely related area or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the disability sector
- Valid NT Ochre Card (Working with children and vulnerable people)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Copy of your Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance
- First Aid (Provide First Aid - HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) (Provide CPR - HLTAID001
or HLTAID009)
- Manual Handling Training for Healthcare Workers
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - ("Quality, Safety and You")
- Infection control & PPE training ("Supporting People to Stay Infection Free" – DSC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (from a previous/current organisation)
- COVID-19 Vaccination Confirmation Certificate
