About the Committee
The Audit and Risk Committee is a committee of the Board of TAFE Gippsland (Institute) and is established in accordance with the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, the Constitution of TAFE Gippsland, and the Standing Directions 2018 under the Financial Management Act 1994.
The role of the Audit and Risk Committee is to assist the Board to achieve its strategic objectives by ensuring that appropriate governance is implemented across the Institute and relevant controlled entities in relation to:
- internal control and Risk management;
- annual statutory accounts;
- external audit; and
- internal audit.

Qualifications and experience
Candidates wishing to express an interest in becoming an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee must have and maintain —
- advanced financial literacy, formal accounting qualifications highly desirable
- knowledge and experience in risk management;
- integrity, objectivity, accountability, honesty, and openness;
- dedication of time and effort;
- an enquiring mind;
- independence of judgement;
- business experience in the public or private sector.
Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
- Ability to attend meetings in person at TAFE Gippsland campuses
