About the team
Our Auto Electrician team sits within our Fleet Maintenance and Acquisition Business unit. The Unit has the responsibility for all the management of vehicles, plant and associated equipment for the City, including operations, acquisition, management and maintenance in order to ensure efficient and safe service delivery.
About your new role
As an Auto Electrician you will be tasked with performing aspects of maintenance and general repairs of the City's fleet of trucks, plant and miscellaneous equipment using skills acquired through the Automotive Electrical Technology or related trade
The City's fleet consists of approximately 5,000 vehicle and plant assets. The responsibilities of this role are multi-faceted and include:?
- Maintaining, testing, diagnosing, installing, removing and repairing automotive electrical components, systems and accessories
- Working safely and following adopted procedures?
- Working closely with Fleet Maintenance personnel and peers within the broader Fleet team to identify, develop and implement innovative and continuous improvement strategies for maintenance management systems and processes which optimise the whole of life value and use of the City’s fleet
We're looking for people who have:
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or associated trade)?
- Experience in a variety of light and heavy vehicles and plant would be advantageous
- Experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management Systems such as SAP?
- Experience working with quality and safety certified systems, with the capacity to identify issues and recommend appropriate responses and solutions?
- Self-motivated and able to work independently when required, as well as part of a team?
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills?
- A responsible attitude in relation to timekeeping, work organisation and quality control
- Experience with automotive air conditioning systems is desirable
