We are looking for a Auto Electrician to join the Mobile Maintenance Team at our Tom Price Operation. This is a permanent, residential position based in Tom Price, working 8&6 12-hour shift roster.
You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, scheduled preventative and breakdown maintenance to our fleet of heavy mobile equipment. Our fleet consists of Komatsu haul trucks, CAT Dozers, Graders and Loaders along with a fleet of ancillary and pumping equipment.
We offer subsidised housing where you and your family will be able to explore the incredible Pilbara region and have access to excellent sporting and recreational facilities as well as a shopping center, medical and education facilities.
This role is open to applicants who have a desire to permanently relocate to Tom Price . A site visit may not be possible if you reside outside of Western Australia.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- The desire to relocate and live in Tom Price, if you don’t already
- A relevant trade qualification & air-conditioning license
- Previous experience in maintaining and fault diagnosing open cut mining equipment
- A current Western Australian C class driver's license
- A strong commitment to safety
- A permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto

Tom Price is in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our orginal Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, 2 primary schools, a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
