Based in Perth, WA the role of Automation Control System Engineer role will join our engineering team where your understanding of client requirements and our Autonomous Solutions Roadmap will be used to determine how we translate data into actions to support our Automation Control System features. The role will collaborate with our development team and other IT staff to set specifications for new Automation Control System features, and will be crucial in writing high-quality code to program complete Automation Control System specifications on schedule.
About You
Typically, you come from a strong engineering systems background where you were pivotal in the construction and implementation of system architectures in industrial automation. We are seeking a skilled Automation Control Systems Engineer to join our Agile DevOps team to further develop our autonomous Control Systems in line with our technology roadmap.
Key Selection Criteria
The essentials
- A relevant degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Systems or Mechatronics Engineering
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Automation Control Systems.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in PLC programming and configuration.
- Experience in mobile equipment or automotive background.
The desirables
- Mine site or heavy industry experience.
- HMI and SCADA programming, configuration and features.
- Industrial communication network and associated protocol topologies for Ethernet, DeviceNet, CANbus and commonly used instrumentation signal network topologies such as analog and digital formats.
- Principles and application aspects of wireless communication including various systems capabilities and limitations.
- Product selection of software, sensors and general automation and mechatronic hardware and implementation into new and existing applications.
- Investigation capability documenting findings, summarising and reporting.
- Experience in an engineering role with system design, implementation, commissioning and maintenance for power, control and instrumentation applications and systems.
