We are currently seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer who can bring new ideas, challenge the status quo and drive our next phase of growth.
Role Description
The role is Perth based with ad-hoc travel to client sites in Western Australia.
The Applicant will be responsible for the design, engineering and commissioning of industrial Control Systems including:
- Creation and review of document deliverables, including but not limited to; Functional Specifications, Factory Acceptance documentation, Site Acceptance documentation, and IO Lists.
- PLC software development. Applicant must have experience in at least one: Schneider Unity, Allen Bradley, Siemens and GE Emerson.
- SCADA/HMI software development. Citect, FactoryTalk, Ignition to be looked at favourably.
- Review and understanding of related design documentation, included but not limited to; P&IDs, PFDs, IO Lists, Cable Schedules, Loop Diagrams, Control Philosophies, Flow Diagrams, Electrical Design Documentation, Equipment Datasheets.
- Configuration of IEDs (Intelligent electrical devices) from various vendors.
- Analysis and auditing of existing control system implementations.
- Design reviews and punch listing with client representatives.
- Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Site Acceptance Testing.
- Onsite commissioning of PLC/HMI/SCADA software.
- Interactions with client representatives relating to industrial Control Systems.
- Design and specification assistance related to product selection.
Skills/Qualifications
- Applicant must have Australian Permanent Residency status.
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical/electronic or related field.
- Must have a valid Australian driver’s license.
- Applicant must have minimum 3+ years’ experience in industrial automation.
- Applicant must have a sound understanding of common industrial protocols and communications systems, including but not limited to ModbusTCP, Profibus, EthernetIP, TCP/IP.
- Applicant must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Applicant must have sound fault-finding ability related to Industrial Control Systems and associated technology.
Applicants with the following attributes will be looked upon favorably:
- Experience in power/energy or mining processes and implementations.
- Experience in electrical design and fault-finding.
- Experience in network and communications design and fault-finding.
